ANALYSIS OF OIL LOSS IN EMPTY FUNDS USING NIRS FOSS IN PT. PLANTATION NUSANTARA VI FACTORY UNIT SEI BAHAR II BUNUT, JAMBI

Abstract

PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VI Sei Bahar Factory Unit (PSB) II Bunut is one of the business units of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VI which processes various kinds of plant commodities, especially in the plantation sector and the production of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and palm kernel (kernel). The scope of work carried out in service/internship activities includes the Processing Section, the Workshop Section and the Laboratory Section. The products produced are CPO, Fiber, Shell, palm kernel and empty fruit bunches. The palm oil production process starts from weighbridge, palm oil sorting, loading ramp station, boiling station, rail track and hoisting crane station, screw press station, kernel station and clarification station. Oil Losses in Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) cannot be avoided but can be controlled so that the amount of oil lost can be minimized. oil losses are conditions where oil that should be obtained from a production process, but the oil is lost and cannot be obtained. The tools used to test oil losses are Near Infra Red (NIR). The type of NIR used is Nir foss DA 1650. The average results of analysis of losses in empty oil palm fruit bunches in one month is 2.14%. The oil loss that occurred was still above the standard oil losses set by PTPN VI PKS II Bunut, which was 0.62%. Based on the results of observations and analysis of empty bunches losses in the empty bunch at the PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VI PSB II Bunut, Jambi, it can be concluded that the factors that affect losses in empty bunches are raw materials and the boiling process in the sterilizer.
