Garbage is a problem in urban communities, especially if it is not managed properly because it causes pollution and is detrimental to health. Organic waste still has high economic value if it can be processed into various products. In community service activities, black army fly maggot-based waste processing (BSF) was tested using two approaches, namely model A where households (RT) deposit organic waste and maggot maintenance is carried out by the Garbage Bank. Model B is carried out with household participation where the BSF maggot is maintained by the RT by providing organic waste as its feed. The two models were compared by giving questionnaires to the households involved. The results show that 17% percent of RTs wish to continue participating in Model B. Disgust, patience and limited time are inhibiting factors for maggot- based waste management in RTs. Education and outreach need to be done to increase its success. The organic waste management model should be carried out by the community depositing their organic waste and the Waste Bank using this organic waste to produce BSF maggot.
