PENGGUNAAN LALANDAK BERBASIS MESIN PENGGERAK SEBAGAI PENGENDALI GULMA PADA TANAMAN PADI SAWAH

Abstract

Weed control by hand (handweeding) in paddy rice plants requires time and high costs so it becomes less effective. To overcome this, the partner community is offered a mechanical weed control method solution, namely with Lalandak using a driving machine. The weed control tool offered is in the form of a pusher with the help of a propulsion machine made of iron frame and equipped with two wheels and a blade that functions as a weed cutter. The hedgehog based on the propulsion engine is equipped with an iron float so that the hedgehog remains above the ground/water level. Lalandak based on propulsion engines is an innovation developed at the Weed Management Laboratory of the Agrotechnology Study Program and at the Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Laboratory of the Agricultural Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Syiah Kuala. It is hoped that, with the presence of a driving machine-based hedgehog, the process of controlling weeds in lowland rice plants can be more effective and efficient and in the end can increase the yield of lowland rice plants in partner communities in Lieue Village, Darussalam District, Aceh Besar. The results of the service show that the service team has succeeded in making Lalandak based on a driving machine as a mechanical weed controller. Apart from that, farmers have skillfully operated the hedgehog based on the driving machine.
