The purpose of this community service activity is to educate junior high school students about food safety and halal food. Food safety and halal food are important aspects that must be considered in everyday life, especially for the younger generation. Socializing the topic of food safety and halal food among school students is a strategic step to instill awareness from an early age about the importance of consuming safe, healthy, and sharia-compliant food. Through this socialization activity, students are expected to be able to recognize food labels, understand hygienic storage and processing processes, and cultivate responsible consumption behavior. Socialization was carried out through a presentation on food safety and halal food along with examples from the field. Before the presentation, students were given a pre-test questionnaire and a post-test after the presentation. The pre-test results showed that some students still did not understand food safety and halal food. This was evident from the pre-test scores submitted, where some students still answered incorrectly. Meanwhile, after the presentation, the post-test scores indicated that students had a better understanding of food safety and halal food. Students at SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh have a good basic understanding and are able to absorb material on the importance of food safety and halal food certification. This learning can improve students' critical thinking in selecting safe and halal food products on the market. Overall, the food safety and halal education program for school students serves as a preventative measure to protect health while building character and integrity. Awareness instilled from an early age will have a long-term impact on healthy lifestyles, sustainable food consumption, and the creation of a society that is more aware of the importance of safe and halal food.
